This is the first of two commissions for my dear friend *Peccantis and this one is of her beautiful nordanner!! He is so pretty gosh I love him! :la:

Can I just say how proud I am of myself!!!

This is probably the best piece of work I have ever done! I mean, dat background is just AMAZEBALLS!

Gorgeous piece, great use of the monochrome technique.
It is soft and subtle, and the moonlight feels very realistic.

If I could wish for anything, perhaps the blacks of the shadows and the highlights of the moonlight could be given more contrast. Keeping all the values of the grays close together has of course given a soft, gentle mood to the piece that I love, but as far as the eye being able to instantly pick out & read the shapes, more contrast might serve as a visual aid to the viewer.

I would also like to see the reflection of the moon in the water highlighting the ripples.

Still, all in all having looked at the artist's gallery this definitely represents a leap forward in vision & skill at conveying a mood - especially in the expression and stance of the magical horse, somewhere between invitation and playful challenge.
